All this secretiveness can be exhausting for me sometimes, which is just one of the reasons I could never be a Harper. Don't get me wrong, I admire them and believe in their work, but sometimes it's enough of a challenge to remember all the codes I've learned for my dealings with Ralenthra in the short time that I've known her.

She was sitting on her bed (she always takes the bed on the right side of the room) swinging her legs up and down and holding the silver silk gown I'd bought her up to her chest.

"Rolly, that was supposed to be a surprise!"

She looked up at me with a wide grin.

"If it makes you feel any better, I was surprised when I opened it."

"Well, it's not the only one..."

"Ooh, really? I hadn't gotten to that one, thanks!"

Quick as lightning, Ralenthra found the lavender gown and held them both up.

"Where are these from?"

"The shopkeeper said they were from Shou."

"In Kara-Tur? Wow!" Her usually jaded demeanor faded and her eyes shone in wonder for a moment.

"Well...thank you. It must have cost you a fortune."

"It was a fair price. So...were you...successful in your endeavors?"

"I'm here, aren't I?"

"Good point."

"And you?"

"I met a very nice gentleman..."

"Did you get him drunk and then drug him after you had mad, passionate -"

"Listen, it was only the one time -"

"Hey, you don't have to defend yourself to me. I'm the thief. At least you didn't rob him after -"

"Of course I didn't. You...you didn't."

I narrowed my eyes at her and she looked away.

"You did, didn't you?"

"Hey, he wasn't going to miss it anyway. He probably thought he'd spent all his money on you."

"It was put on my tab, Ralenthra."

She squirmed a little.

"Oh, all right. I'll find a way to pay him back. I swear."

"Ok, look. I don't care what you do in your free time, but please don't take advantage of my bad judgment calls with others again."

Ralenthra looked remorseful for a moment and nodded.

"Anyway, as I was saying, I met a very nice gentleman. And, no, we didn't drink and we didn't go to bed."

"How disappointing."

"Give me a couple weeks after we get back to Silverymoon. Soon, I'll have him wrapped around my little finger. Well, wrapped around some part of me anyway."

A little while later, Thralia came up to visit and the three of us chatted and played Three Dragon Ante, drinking sparkling plum wine imported from Wa (from Thralia's personal stash). Eventually we dined in our room with Tordrin joining us and sneaking Selune inside.

So it was a rather quiet evening. We have a big day tomorrow.

I thought the gowns were silver and lavender?

Fixed.

Hey, I have started transcribing the notes and I've noticed a bit of an issue with our time. We started keeping these journals on the Greengrass Festival at the beginning of Mirtul. The party gets thrown in prison during the Midsummer festival which takes place...

3 months later.

What, as co-loremistress do you suggest? Should we keep journaling, perhaps not as frequently (in Faerun time)in order to speed things up to the point of our collective arrest (say recording interesting tidbits or events as they happen)?

I thought Midsummer was farther off from when we were journaling.

I don't think we necessarily need to speed things along, only because I'm not going to have much time for the journaling as the semester goes on, and if we're journaling in-game events, I don't want people waiting for me to post. It's not as big a deal with where (when?) we are now, because we can assume that Seledra and Ralenthra didn't do absolutely everything together, so you can journal things that don't involve Ralenthra if you don't want me holding you up.

And of course, not everything needs to be as involved as what we're doing now. Interesting tidbits, as you say. A fight with mom here, a date with Methrammar there, maybe some flashbacks. How we develop our characters now will impact how they perceive things later, so we want to make sure there personalities are well-fleshed out, and as we found out with emo!Kronk, sometimes as you write, your characters don't develop exactly as you thought/planned.

Er, when I say farther off, I mean farther off from what we discussed the other night. The three months sounds more like what I had originally thought it was.

It would seem that you're just killing time until the wedding :-)

This is all good. Put it in the main narrative!!
